Measurements are normally done with digital plans using a mouse and video screen. Digital plan sets are linked to the stored .PDF files on hard drives in directories. Pad digitizers with styluses can used for traditional paper blueprints. Measurements are stored in an SQL databases in conditions that are organized by plan sheet in plan sets by user defined descriptions and price scenarios. The condition forms contain menus and user modifiable labels that allow users select the the products installed to meet contract specifications. Selected from master database of prefabricated forms, each multi-tab condition form which can be user modified by checkboxes and dropdown boxes has image layers, height, width, depth assignments and stores six or more measurement units such as linear feet, square feet or cubic yards. The program displays the takeoff measurements data, page subtotals, subtotals by name and the total calculated quantities. Conditions can be further grouped into zones and repeating typical groups.
