== Plan Measurment ==

Measurements are normally done with digital plans using a mouse and video screen. Digital plan sets are linked to the stored .PDF files on hard drives in directories. Pad digitizers with styluses can used for traditional paper blueprints. Measurements are stored in an SQL databases in conditions that are organized by plan sheet, in plan sets, by user defined descriptions and price scenarios. The condition forms contain menus and user modifiable labels that allow users select the the products installed to meet contract specifications. Selected from master database of prefabricated forms, each multi-tab condition form which can be user modified by checkboxes and dropdown boxes has image layers, height, width, depth assignments and stores six or more measurement units such as linear feet, square feet or cubic yards. The program displays the takeoff measurements data, page subtotals, subtotals by name and the total calculated quantities. Conditions can be further grouped into zones and repeating typical groups.


== Contract Pricing ==

Intergrated with the measurement software, the Edge system prices contract proposals based on labor types, material specifications, overhead and mark up. By selecting conditions with identical key fields groups of conditons can modified simultaneously by users to meet contract specifications. Items can be adjusted interactively. Items contain menus for labor in regional markets, specific craft trades, and hourly rates; and material costs for the specific product(s)or mixture of products. The masterdata base can include "Smart Rates" that automatically adjust installation methods to match the assigned height of the condition. The Edge has Standard reports and custome reports for equipment, subcontractors, other items and reports of detailed labor, materials and total prices with breakdowns by groups.
